Projects > Hospitality > Historic Preservation and Adaptive Reuse

This proposed hotel in Downtown Napa includes the preservation and restoration of the historic Franklin Station post office which was badly damaged in the 2014 earthquake. A new hotel will be constructed around the historic building which will be restored to serve as the hotel lobby.

Studio 1515 prepared the schematic streetscape plan in coordination with the garage and mixed use project across the street. This includes new street trees, furnishings and sidewalks that comply with the City standards and the Downtown Napa Specific Plan.

To celebrate the significance of the historic lobby, Studio 1515 designed a special sidewalk paving design along the lobby frontage. Additional landscape designs include upper level courtyards, balconies, rooftop terraces and signature pool deck. Upper level planting areas are designed to work on building podium levels and are coordinated with multiple disciplines including structural engineers, architects, interior designers and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers.
